The H Family

I was so excited to photograph my friend Devon and her family.  Little Evan is going to be a big brother - to a baby sister!  It was so fun to watch his eyes light up when a train passed by.  Devon looks amazing and totally has that pregnancy glow.  What a beautiful family - can't wait for baby girl to make her appearance!

Funny, all my recent maternity sessions have been in SJC.  I love the location!

Evan was so curious about the photos, he inched his way up after each shot so he could look at the camera.

Susan

My good friend Susan is pregnant with her first baby - a girl!  Susan and I used to work together in Beverly Hills... we hit it off immediately and both wound up in OC.  We've been great friends since and I am just overjoyed for her and her husband.  We had a great time in SJC as we took her maternity photos... she is 35 weeks and look at that belly!  I love it!  I cannot wait to meet baby girl!  xo

Susan looks amazing!

Toby + Kimo

So this weekend we were babysitting our friends' two dogs, Toby & Kimo.  Yes, we had 7 critters running around our house!  They are fun dogs and my boys absolutely love them.  So I thought I would try my hand at being a dog photographer.

Toby is such a cute dog!

Studio Lighting

I just attended a class on studio lighting, put on by my friend, the amazing makeup artist, Vivian Tran of All Made Up.  Her work is absolutely beautiful!  I joined her at her studio as we learned how to set up lighting for a studio shoot with instructor Kevin Toohey.  I am absolutely clueless as it comes to flash photography.  I don't even own a flash!  But I thought this would be good for me to understand studio lighting if I ever have to do it.

Vivian had two models ready for us - her team did a fabulous job with the hair, makeup, and tan.  It was fun to shoot using reflectors, umbrellas, and ring flashes.  I just wanted to keep shooting!  So here are a few of my shots of the models, Hahn and Tram.  The main focus was the hair and makeup, as this is what All Made Up is all about.  You can see how gorgeous and flawless the makeup is.  The reason for the bikini is to feature the tan as well.

First some headshots with umbrella lights.
This lighting highlighted the hair.

For this one, the lights were moved and was more direct on Tram's face.  It's very soft and pretty.

Then we got to play with a ring flash to get these more edgy looks.

Finally, I went outside and did some natural light photos with Tram.  You can definitely see the difference in the style of lighting!

George is 3!

I remember when George was born - 3 years goes by so fast!  George is such a handsome boy and an amazing model too!  He was so fun and it made it so easy to photograph him.  What a beautiful day we had too.  Thanks so much for asking me to capture George as he turns the big 3, B!  xo

First, we have George and his beloved scooter.
